be the change that you wish to be.......

hello ...
today i write this blog from the point of compassion... having compassion in everything around you from the littlest bug to the saddest human you see... try living each day with compassion for your fellow man/woman with unconditional love. even give a few cents to the homeless chap on the street. you never know when you might need some spare change someday. i have been working on these things or the Bodhisattva way for awhile now and its still a learning process... the real Tibetan Buddhist way.

here are some good reading books you all might enjoy... both from pema chodron one called "no time to lose: a timely guide to the way of the Bodhisattva" and "the places that scare you:a guide to fearlessness in difficult times"...and another book by yogi ramacharaka called "advance course in yogi philosophy and oriental occultism"...

well be good to yourselves and remember to just be in the moment with yourself and reflect. just being sometimes can help you alot.

quote:

live life well and be good and kind to all in your world. peace be with you all.........

the day after....

this is an interesting concept... the day after 9/11....
from a huffington post article: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/arianna-huffington/post_2391_b_957737.html
on the day after.
i couldn't get up from my couch yesterday. i watched the ceremonies from the tele. i so wanted to be there but the emotions were overwhelming. i couldn't make it. i will go when less people are there sometime this week. i wish everyone peace and luv and hope these coming days as things are recalled, remembered and feelings, places, times and people are revisited. http://news.yahoo.com/photos/memorable-moments-ground-zero-memorial-ceremony-1315761242-slideshow/

you can also go here to check out the new memorial for the twin towers: http://www.911memorial.org/

also, i would like to add that 9/11 should be observed like memorial day or labor day, a national holiday day. period. thank you all and take care.

*edit to add on huffington post some dude posted it's his birthday on 9/11 and he can't see past himself to this day.. i am replying with this post.. don't know if i will get "moderated" so i am posting my reply here. this is what i replied: "its not about you. period. this day needs to be an observed national holiday day. period. with respect to the lives lost, they don't get to have birthdays... so, with all due respect to your birthday, i'd be honoured to share a national holiday on 9/11 with my birthday, but sadly it's on oct. 10th.....  please make 9/11 an observed national holiday day. thank you and take care.. "... what a fucking jaskass person this is to comment like that after my sincere post. i'd like to say "fuck you, you stupid selfish jaskass...."...but sadly that would be most likely "moderated" esp. on arianna's comment thread.. haha

and a woman on her daughters birthday so i said this:"nobody complains on labor day or memorial day as their birthdays.. selfish people you are. those people who are lost on 9/11 don't get birthdays like your daughter. celebrate their lives lost. make 9/11 a national holiday day. period. "...

wow, and now this asshole says this:  ""And, somehow, making a "holiday" out of a national tragedy seems terribly wrong headed. ??????????????

so i respond with this: "how so? those lives should be remembered. they don't get birthdays anymore. so, what is your issue? can't you turn a national tragedy to a positive remberence of the tragedy? u are the only one wrong headed here... "... these fuckers are fucking stupid...

will i get "moderated" probably these huffington people are fucking stupid...  i shouldn't get moderated but it's awaiting the moderator.... so will i get moderated??? i have every right to say what i posted. but its me we are talking about so.......... haha

sept. 11, 2011

i'd like to start with a few quotes:
"it is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light."
- Aristotle Onassis
and
"an eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind."
-Monhandas Gandhi.....

and with that, i would like to take a few to say to all those involved in 9/11 being the firefighters, cops, law enforcement, government official and the general public(folks like you and me) i wish you all well on this day and this weekend.. it's a scary time as of late. you cannot even worry about walking down the street let alone going to a ceremony for this event. regardless of conspiracy theories and what you believe to have had a hand in 9/11, there were lives that were lost... that is in itself a tragedy. and a shameful thing. i have this lovely painting of the twin towers and have had it for years.... and i look at it everyday, even though i live in nyc, i am still blown away by the importance of the events. please do not just forget or toss what happened under a rug, its something to remember and make into something special.

if you've lost someone or had misfortune due to 9/11, try to find something positive to turn the negative into. please.... that is the only way to beat what has happened. that is my message: take the negative and turn it into the positive. for the positive is always good feels good, no need to change it right? it's always the negative that needs to be changed into something positive. as we used to say in the south near virginia- "when god tosses you lemons, you make some lemonade..." take care and wishing you all well... peace, luv and a ton o' hugs be with you all...

by uplifting oneself it can be sometimes a painfull downer.. ;)

i start this with a quote " all is connected...no one thing can change by itself." by paul hawken.

say that is a pretty heavy quote eh? i mean u change yourself right? um.... not entirely, no. a word that comes to mind is synchronicity-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synchronicity- say you think to yourself "i need to find out why i do that" and then all of a sudden you have a conversation, even with a complete stranger, on a heavy topic on thoughts, feelings, and emotions and hence you find your answer of why u do that. funny that eh? sometimes not one thing can change by itself. you sometimes need a helping hand or heart sometimes. you know it takes a big person to stand and fight like a boxer, but it takes an even bigger person to walk away and take the road less traveled to a higher and bigger place.  hence this blog... i could email and fight and blah blah blah forever, but no, that won't change anything will it? i made the change to have my own voice heard and not get "moderated" by making  my own blog. so, there you go.

also, another big heavy issue is facing yourself. have the courage to face yourself and look at yourself. like dissecting yourself from the inside out. i dare you all to ponder that. i've done it and trust me, it's fucking scary as all hell. thankfully i read psychology books and neuroscience books for fun but i digress......... it will seriously blow your mind at examining your mind, heart, body and soul. do it. and write down your thoughts and feelings... as they are your  unedited "un-moderated"  bare nekkid self.. lol ;)

a good book one of my aunts, long ago when i was 17(i am now 35) told me about and bought for me, was "writing down the bones: freeing the writer within" and wild mind:living the writers life" both by natalie goldberg. http://www.amazon.com/Writing-Down-Bones-Freeing-Writer/dp/1590302613

as a songwriter and a writer/artist, those two books just blew my mind. even at 17 yrs old. and even at 35 they still blow my mind. so, with this i cast this blog out into the world, lmao, and say to anyone listening/reading to, as a line in an en vogue tune goes "free your mind, the rest will follow"...i encourage you all to do the same. try it, even if you think u suck. try it anyway. as the nike slogan says: JUST DO IT"....lol
-peace luv and a ton o' hugs to you all..... ;)
